Czech Contemporary Composers on the Programme of The Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra
Three compositions written by Czech composers of middle and younger generation have been chosen for the programme of the concert on 8 February 2009 in Reykjavik.
Alois Pinos (1925-2008)
The composer Alois Pinos, one of the Czech Republic's leading contemporary composers, died after a long illness on 19 September 2008 at the age of 83. He was born in Brno where he spent his life composing and teaching at the Janacek’s Academy of Music (since the mid-sixties). In the sixties he had become a member of the then progressive group of Moravian composers Camerata Brno.
