BECOME A PART OF THE GLOBAL MUSIC NETWORK

Bylaws as adopted by the Assembly in Wellington on June 19, 2007.

These Bylaws replace the bylaws adopted by the Assembly in Göteborg on June 23rd 2006, as amended by the Assemblies in Warsaw September 26th 2004, in Nice January 23rd 2004, in Norway September 14th 2001, in Frankfurt September 1992, in Prague August 1991, in Glasgow September 1990, in Oxford August 1989, in Stockholm August 12th 1986.

IAMIC welcomes new members - music information centres, busines partners and arts organisations - who share an interest in new music.

Join the network and:

  • participate in international dialogue between arts organisations.
  • participate in conferences and share strategies.
  • stay up to date with international activities through e-newsletters
  • join project taskforces and collaborate on international projects.

IAMIC business partners have the opportunity the reach audiences in 38 countries. Sponsors of IAMIC concerts, festivals and recordings enable the world's most innovative and talented contemporary music composers and performers to share their work internationally.

Support IAMIC's future projects through one of the following annual membership options:


ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP This membership option relates to Music Information Centres which satisfy the following criteria:

  • It is an organisation accessible to the public, well informed about the music and musical life of its country, region or a certain musical field.
  • It promotes its music at home as well as in other countries and is primarily concerned with the music of our time.
  • It establishes extensive collections of scores, parts, recordings, books, periodicals, education resources and reference materials; makes published and unpublished compositions available for study and/or performance and/or can provide information on how to obtain such materials.
  • It can provide information and materials on composers and/or musicians, music and musical life of its home country or region (eg. newsletters, brochures, recordings, catalogues and other published materials).
  • It can provide information services online (databases, repertoire lists, composers' and/or performers' files, general information, online publications).
  • It has been in existence for at least two years at the time of the annual IAMIC meeting at which it is applying for membership.
  • It is a non-profit organisation.

Music Information Centre, or Ordinary Members are invited to become directy involved in the policy and development of IAMIC by exercising their right to vote at IAMIC's general assemblies.


ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

This membership type is open to non-profit organisations that wish to be associated with an be supportive of the principles and activities of IAMIC, and which cannot be defined as a Music Information Centre according to the criteria outlined above.


BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP

Membership in this category is open to profit organisations (eg. corporate music publishers, record companies, booking agents, software companies, promotional organisations) which wish to be associated with an support the aims and activities of IAMIC.
