As a part of CIDIM, Italian National Music Council (IMC - international NGO formally associated with UNESCO), AMIC, founded in 1999, is the Italian Music Information Center devoted to Italian contemporary classical repertoire (classic, experimental, electronic).

AMIC activity consists of documentation and promotion through BDCI - the Italian Contemporary Composers online DataBank currently consists of 1.421 Italian composers with more than 500 biographies (most of them available in English as well as Italian), and more than 19.000 information entries on compositions, performers, authors, music organizations and recordings. BDCI provides also updated news on Italian Contemporary Music activities such as concerts, festivals, composers competitions,  courses, workshops, meetings, books, periodicals, recordings through sections of News & Info pages.
