Eugen Suchon - Life and Works

 

On the beginning of the year 2009 started to travel through Canada and USA the exhibition EUGEN SUCHON – LIFE AND WORK, dedicated to this Slovak outstanding composer, creator of the Slovak national opera, Krutnava, also well-known as Whirlpool or Katrena. Between April 17th and 28th was the exhibition installed in the Bohemian Hall on Manhattan in New York. On the opening has been performed selection of Suchon´s works, in the interpretation of Boris Kucharsky (violin), Radoslav Lesay (tenor) and Christina Kiss (piano).

During february was this exhition installed in the LATITUDE 44 GALLERY in Toronto, subsequently looked it up visitors on the Embassy of Slovak Republic in Ottawa – the vernissage in the presence of the slovak ambassador and with accompanying talk of composer´s daughter, Mrs. Danica Štilichová-Suchonová, took place on the March 16th. Many other cities (Montreal, Vancouver, Washington, New Yersey, Rochester, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Chicago) are still discussed.
