BBC National Orchestra of Wales - Welsh Composers` Project

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Jac Van Steen, is featuring the works of young Welsh composers deserving of increased exposure on Thursday and Friday the 12th and 13th March.  Open workshops, free to members of the public, will take place over two days and works will be selected for a free concert on Friday evening at the orchestra's new home, Hoddinott Hall.

Composers taking part in the two day event are as follows:

Paul Mealor - Rising of the Six-fold Sun                       
Ben Heneghan - Walking the Wild Rhondda                                    
John Hardy  - Fever
Hilary Tann - The Grey Tide and the Green      
Christopher Painter - Forest of Dreams 
Gareth Glyn - A Night at the Opera                      
Mark Bowden - Tirlun  
Works will be selected 

The project is in collaboration with the Welsh Music Guild, Composers of Wales and the Welsh Music Information Centre at Ty Cerdd - Music Centre Wales.
