Consortium Musicum Choir Celebrates 40 Years

On Monday, October 13, the Consortium Musicum choir and orchestra, led by conductor Mirko Cuderman and joined by vocal soloists, performed Antonín Dvo?ák’s monumental Stabat Mater at Slovenian Philharmonic Hall in Ljubljana. The mixed choir Consortium Musicum was founded in 1968 with the aim of performing exclusively vocal-instrumental works, a repertoire which was largely absent from Slovenian concert life at the time. The choir celebrated their anniversary with the same conductor they began with: Dr Mirko Cuderman is the elder statesman in the field of choral music in Slovenia, having led the Slovenian Octet and the Slovenian Chamber Choir of the Slovenian Philharmonic as well as Consortium Musicum.
