Polish Music Information Centre (PMIC) works for the benefit of Polish musical culture, to promote Polish music worldwide, and to further the interests of Polish composers, musicologists and musicians. The core activity is providing information on Polish music to all interested people and institutions.
Main PMIC projects and activities include:
- Collecting and making available scores, books and periodicals on Polish contemporary music.
- Ongoing development of comprehensive databases on Polish composers and musicologists.
- Online access to information on music institutions and events in Poland, biographies of composers, musicologists and performers and an open discussion forum.
- Promotion of The Polish Collection of the Warsaw Autumn 1956-2005 a 10 CD box set of works by Polish composers performed at the Warsaw Autumn Festival.
- PMIC was a contributor to the Performing Arts Yearbook for Europe 2006, providing information on music institutions in Poland in co-operation with the Polish Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI).
