Belgian composer writes for Warner Bros

Flemish composer Guy Cuyvers has recently written the main part of the score for Lauras Stern 2, a German-Chinese 3D animation movie. He succeeds Hans Zimmer, who wrote the main part for the first movie. The score was recorded with the Weimar Staatskapelle and some famous soloists from all over the world, including Lang Lang.

Flemish Connections at the ISCM World Music Days / 18th Gaida Festival in Lithuania

Fleming Lieven Bertels (Holland Festival) has been invited to be curator of the ISCM World Music Days / 18th Gaida Festival, from 24 October to 8 November 2008 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The festival has invited composers from all over the world to submit works for this occasion.

 

Xavier Vandamme to Become New Director of the Early Music Festival in Utrecht

After working as Romanist for the University of Louvain and as a presenter at the classical music radio channel, Xavier Vandamme has become the Early Music programmer for the Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels. For a couple of months now he’s also been assisting the Centre’s director Paul Dujardin.

By the end of October, Flanders Music Centre will present a new edition of its Guide to Contemporary Music in Flanders on the ISCM World Music Days in Vilnius.
