Orchestral composition "Aquarius" by the Slovak composer Andrej Slezák was awarded by the 2nd prize at the finals of Toru Takemitsu International Composition Award organized by the Tokyo Opera City Cultural Foundation.
The Slovakian composer Lubica Cekovská has been appointed Composer in Residence by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Altenburg-Gera for the 2010/2011 season.
