Humboldt Brass Chamber Music Workshop Announces
2010 Composition Contest Prizewinners

The Luxembourg Society for Contemporary Music is organising its 9th International Composition Prize for the year 2010. Composers from all over the world are invited to submit a concert piece for violin and the ensemble Luxembourg Sinfonietta.

From the 2009-2010 academic year on, the Faculty of Music - University College Ghent, in collaboration with the Ghent based Spectra ensemble & the Brussels based Ictus ensemble, will be offering a new Master programme with emphasis on Contemporary Chamber Music.

Tansman 2010 - Composer Competition - Alexander Tansman 8th International Competition of Musical Personalites, which will be held in ?ód?, Poland, on 1-3 October 2010 and 14-20 November 2010.

 The Esoterics announces an international call for a cappella choral scores for its annual competition for choral composition, POLYPHONOS, from the Greek πολυφωνος, "having many voices" or "manifold in expression."

Please find attached the 'Call for Scores' for the International Composer Pyramid, a three-year project headed by Sounds New Contemporary Music Festival [UK] in partnership with Coups de Vents [France] and funded by the European Union.

The Dance Factory, the Dance Forum, Moving into Dance Mophatong and Vuyani Dance Theatre, referred as The Newtown Dance Corner in Johannesburg / South Africa, have decided to join forces to create Crossings with the support of the French Institute of South Africa and several other partners. It will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 26 July to 8 August 2010.

The Association of Friends of the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra (Förderverein Brandenburger Symphoniker) a few days ago announced an international competition for composers of symphonic music on its homepage.

This prestigious Award, launched to considerable acclaim in 2008, attracts entries from across the UK.  It offers young composers under the age of 25, the opportunity to write for The Tallis Scholars, with the winning entries to be performed in Chester Cathedral as part of the 2010 Chester Summer Music Festival on Wednesday 30 June and recorded for broadcast by BBC Radio 3.
