Diana Rotaru (1981, Romania) received the Prize for Shakti" (or Sakti) concerto for saxophone and orchestra performed on October 27 by Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.

The award was inaugurated in 2002 and will be presented each year to a selected composer under 35 whose work is featured in the annual ISCM World Music Days.

IAMIC members are invited to participate in a winter meeting the 16th January 2009 in Nice. This date coincides with the beginning of MIDEM, the annual music industry meeting place for nearly 10,000 music professionals from almost 100 countries.

IAMIC Annual Conference was hosted in Cardiff, Wales by Ty Cerdd-Music Centre Wales, from 8th until 13th of September. Sessions were given by outstanding, international experts in the cultural sector, music and new technologies.

NordMic Association, a project based network comprised of IAMIC member organisations the Danish Arts Agency Music Centre, the Finnish Music Information Centre, the Iceland Music Information, the Music Information Centre Norway and the Swedish Music Information Centre are currently developing a new edition of the Nordic Wind Music Catalogue, first published 15 years ago.

IAMIC's Office Manager has been invited to participate in the New Art Net international conference for young managers in performing arts, held September 27-30 in Belgrade Serbia.
