IAMIC welcomes new members from Serbia and Burundi

IAMIC is delighted to welcome two new members to our network of music information centres: the Music Information Centre of Serbia, and the Musicology Institute of Gitega (Burundi). We look forward to working with and exchanging knowledge with these new music centres.

About MICS:

Music Information Centre of Serbia (MICS) is non-profit umbrella organization with a mission to contribute representation, development, researching, collecting and safeguarding musical creativity and music scene in Serbia. Also, our mission includes the contribution to the development of music industry as it is an important part of creative sector in Serbia.

About Musicology Gitega:

The Institute of Musicology of Gitega operates under three essential structures: the Musical Research Department, carrying out work within Burundian Ethnomusicology and research into comparative systematic ethnomusicology in the general context of the varied traditional musical cultural riches of sub-Saharan Africa; the Department of Music Education and Creation, responsible for the training in Music and Musicology of graduates from High Schools, training workshops/seminars in music for singers/musicians at various levels and music therapy; the Department of Publications, supporting all the research works through the publication of books and brochures on various musical subjects.
