Henry Brant (1913-2008)
American composer Henry Brant, known for his pioneering development of spatial music, died in his home in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday April 26, 2008 with his wife and children at his bedside. He was 94.

IAJE Ceases Operations and Files for Bankruptcy
The International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) closed its office on April 18, 2008, and has ceased operations. Chuck Owen, president of IAJE's board of directors, announced that the IAJE Board has voted to file for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 of the United States' Federal Bankruptcy Law.

Once again the Swedish Music Information Centre will arrange ”Swedish Music Day” on the last Saturday of May, this year on May 31st.
American ‘Swede-bloggers’ invited to Sweden
The Swedish Music Information Centre is inviting two bloggers to Sweden and this year’s Hultsfred Festival. They are Avi Roig and Craig Bonnell, who write daily blogs on Swedish music called, respectively, It’s a Trap! and Swedesplease.
